  • Hi Nat, want to get a 2.8 zoom around 24-70 but wanted to know your opinion on other 3rd party lens ie, Tokina,Tamron,Sigma (which make is best). Will probably go for Nikon but who knows.

  • @RedWine2go Yeah, definitely go with the Nikon.

  • dude wat can u say about sigma 24-70mm DG HSM 2.8???

  • @toffetots It definitely can't compare to the nikon. apart from the possibility of compatibility issues, 3rd party lenses in general pale in comparison to Nikons.

  • Hi Nate, how often do you use the 24-70mm lens with your D90. I am thinking of investing in this lens and I have a D90 and know theoretically, the lens is more appropriate for a FX Camera. I will invest in a FX camera in a couple of years or more.

Are there any minuses to using this combination (DX camera & lens)? Do you feel that you need another lens to cover any wide angle shots?

Thanks for posting these videos up - you bring up good points that I wouldn't have thought about.

  • @guzzie808 There's no disadvantage at all for using this lens with a DX camera. If anything, it frees you from any vignetting or other bad things that occur in the corners of the frame when you use it with an FX camera. This lens is plenty wide enough for most general photography too, so I'm sure you'll do well with it.

  • Why you compare the 24-70 2.8 to a 18-55 dude seriously! Thats like comparing Megan Fox to Oprah, compare it to another pro lens but 18-55 or 18-200 next to a 24-70 is nothing, put that baby on a D700 and they're crap.

  • Hi Nate,

Glad u did this video...very informative. I was thinking of getting this lens. Hope Nikon has fixed the problems with it by now.

  • @mrindignation 24-70

  • @danielnyman79 as many tomes as he wants!!

why do people hate on this kid so much he is fucking awsome and i learned alot from watching his videos.

Nate keep doing what you do !!

  • @111ImNumber1 for me nikon 24-70mm 2.8 better for outside shooting like walking around in the city or for buildings and 70-200mm better for portraits and zoom in animals.

  • How many times do you say "uhm" in your videos!?

  • Please tell me you're not connecting the 70-200 to that bracket using the camera mount. There's a reason the lens has a tripod plate. You should NEVER be doing anything that makes the lens wobble and put all the stress on the mount.

  • hi... i have a dx nikon.. should i get the 17-55 2.8 or the 24-70 which is made for fx? thanks!

  • Hey, which lens would recommend for an FX camera like the D700? 24-70mm or 70-200mm VR II? Probably the question sounds a bit stupid since these lenses are for different purposes, but if you were to buy only one of those, which one would be your pick? thanks.

  • @RedWine2go : You should look at the reviews for the Tokina 20-70 2.6-2.8....Pros agree that it is built stronger & offers the same results.
