Kenya is making new inroads in tourism markets. 263 holidaymakers from Belgium arrived in Mombasa for their holidays. This is the first time a large group from that country is visiting Kenya purely for tourism purposes.

  • You guys crack me up you are always hating on the same white people 2 whose country's you have immigrated under the pretext of going to school & visiting relatives and depend on for that $100 dollars or Euros that you are always sending at western union to feed your broke Mothers & Fathers at home! Come on! Lets us have mutual respect! Fact is we all need each other & accepting that fact doesnt make you weaker. Being xenophobes & Racists on youtube makes you Stupid! copy that siasabora & gang?

  • guys!! Kenyan budget is financed at 85%+ by Kenyans. These tourist dollars comprise of less than 10%. we make such a big deal about wazungus at the expenses of local mwananchi. The government should focus on it's biggest customer. What a waste!!!

  • People,This is at least some income to our desparate country in this hard economic times, there is so much that we can depend on Cash crops and the idot leaders to pull through for our nation

  • This is absolutely pathetic, embarrassing for all of us Africans to see the streotypical African dancing everytime a westerner visits the mother continent. Kenyans get a fcuking dam live and stop acting like animals to make money. Why use semi naked people to dance at the airport.

  • HI

    WHY NOT TRY SAFARIIOCN TOURS

  • my point is this if we focus on Kenyans who i repeat funsd 85% of Kenya's budget we can achieve much more than what this wazungus can do for us. that is why Africa is so poor. we believe that wazungus have the answer to all our problems. In the early 90's someone i know bought a suit from UK after bragging about it founf our it was made in Kenya...suddenly it lost value in his sight. this is the mentality African's have. Sad but very true!!!

  • The economy of highly dependent on agriculture @ 75%. In most developed countries their citizens eZrn enough money to stimulate their tourism industry. The difference btw kenya and dev. countries is how we earn foreign exchange which is crucial in an economy. the use technology we depend on tea, coffee, flowers and tourists. yes, i once worked at kenya airways as an aircraft mechanic. their biggest customers are AFRICANS. does "Pride of Africa ring a bell".

  • eden kid i'll keep this explanation very simple. Tourism is Kenya's largest foreign exchange earning sector, followed by flowers, tea, and coffee. In 2006 tourism generated US$803 million, up from US$699 million the previous year. Now if i round that $803million to $1billion, that translated to Ksh 85billion. Kenya's budget for last year was $10-$12billion dollars. Where did the other $9billion come from tourists? wazungus?

  • We are not worshiping wazungu.... look, do you know how many tourists visit Belgium every year? Millions!! Look, Belgium has a population of 11million and receives 7 million tourists every year!!! So it does not need to celebrate when one plane comes bringing tourists since there are so many of them...

These other countries have so many tourists - France: pop. 60 million; tourists, 60 million!! 1 tourist per person! If we had 38 million tourists, I assure u we would not be "worshiping them"

  • Really? How about the fact that there is quite a lot of that 85% is coming from taxation of hotels (tourists), national parks (tourists), airlines (tourists) etc??

  • More euros for Uhuru to waste by buying more passats. what will the local people get from this nothing. Roads in Mombasa are a mess, Bridges are being washed away by el nino, drug abuse problems, prostitution and all that. The only man who is smiling here is Uhuru and the other gang of 42.

  • pass on the gal over here lol
