A tutorial to show the Mixer control of Ableton Live with the Zero SL MK II controller. Please note: You will need Live 8.1.3 upwards for this particular integration. Download Automap 3.5 for more instructions in the DAW Setup Guide.

  • I don't understand why automap is so hacked when you clearly have worked with Ableton to get this working natively on the launchpad. Can you please just add native mixer controls in Automap?!

  • @emoboi86 The Zero SL MK II has native Mixer controls with Ableton, and as such doesn't require the unnecessary addition of Automap. You can however jump in and out of Automap mode to enable you to control your 3rd party plugins. All instructions on mixer control for the Zero SL MK II are available in the DAW Setup Guide of the latest version of Automap.

  • @NovationTV Sorry mate, should ve specified that I have the Nocturn. When I hit the mixer button on my Nocturn, I get nothing! I feel like this should work considering there's mixer control in the Launchpad. Can we get this working?

  • @emoboi86 If you are using the Nocturn this is probably not the best place for a discussion. I will pm you with more relevant information asap.

  • I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere so I'll ask here: Could a button on the ReMote SL MkII series be made to open and close plugin windows?

  • @Thatguy301 There is a video named "Novation Support Tutorial: Nocturn control over Live 8.1.3 with Automap 3.5" on YouTube. This video may help to explain how this is done. If you are still having problems, please get in contact via the contact form on the Novation support answerbase.

  • @PhantasyIX Just asked exactly the same thing - did you ever find a solution? I find it crazy that 'arm track' is the default. When arming a track, u just need a simple mouse click on one button. The whole point of an interface is to do stuff you can't really do with just a mouse, which is why it would be MASSIVELY useful to control 'solo' buttons. E.g. for experimenting in session view, or for live performance etc.

  • Thanks for the guide - one thing I just can't figure out even after reading all the guides though is how to 'Solo' tracks from the SL mk2 using the native mixer interface to live. By default as you show in your video the top row of buttons is assigned to track = on/off, and the 2nd row is track arm = on/off. I don't really need the ability to punch in and our track arms, but I REALLY do need ability to punch in and out solo tracks. Is there any way to set this up please? Thanks in advance.

  • I recently got the SL MK 2 29 key controller. I was just wondering is there anyway of turning on and off the velocity sensitivity (if that is the phrase) on the keys. In some situations, I prefer having them all equal volume whatever way I hit them. Just wondering, I can cope without though :) thanks for a great product and if you read this soonish, merry Christmas!

  • i have the 25 key sl mkII can you help me out im ive been trying to map different macros in ableton for weeks now still cant figure it out. i dont have a preview button to map like you do

  • why no solo button?
