Burdette Phenicie 1934 - 2009

Burdette Phenicie
Age 75, of Onsted, passed away, December 6, 2009. He was born, April 13, 1934, in Ogden Center, MI, the son of William & Helen (Leader) Phenicie. Burdette was a truck driver for over 50 years. He was an active member of the American Truck Historical Society along with being a member of the Adrian Moose. Burdette loved driving his restored 1970 Dodge Semi along with being a NASCAR fan. He was a member of the Onsted American Legion.
He is survived by his children: Susan Burnett, Randy (Geraldine) Phenicie and Nicole Straub, five granddaughters, three great granddaughters, two sisters; Betty (Junior) Bliesner and Beverly (Paul) Lightfoot, three brothers; Robert (Emma) Phenicie, Bruce (Lynn) Phenicie and Burton (Marilyn) Phenicie and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons; Burdette Jr. and Robin Lee and two brothers William and James. Viewing will be on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Cremation will follow. Memorial services will be 2:30 PM on Wednesday at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with Rev. Lloyd Jewett officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in Maple Shade Cemetery, Onsted with the Onsted American Legion Color Guard. Send condolences online at: www.pursefuneralhome.com
