0:59 - a great save, maybe the best jump save ever!

I remember watching her on TV when I lived in Europe in the 1970s. She was an excellent skater. What ever happened to her?

Christine was always rated behind Sonja Morgenstern in the DDR nationally. In 1973, the injured national champ Morgenstern did not compete at Europeans and Errath won being one of the only skaters to win Europeans without a national title. The video featured here is CBS(American) coverage of the Blue Swords Trophy, the only international event held in the DDR . Errath was trained by Inge Wischnewski in Berlin while Morgenstern was trained by Jutta Jutta Müller in Karl-Marx-Stadt .

My partner, Marvin Sugarman, executive producer of the Sports spec and gone to his reward, was adept at dealing with the DDR hence our Blue Sword coverage.

Thankyou so much for this. I really liked Erraths skating. So nice to finally have a complete LP to watch. And DDR Nationals to boot!!! Wonderful quality!!

It was a very scary trip through check point charley and a train ride into scary East Germany. All the soldiers and the even more unfriendliness than in the CCCP. First time an American television crew was in the DDR. Great memories.

She's skating to The Who's Tommy! I like how the commentator calls it 'hand-clapping music'. I also love the titles you give your vids- adds an air of mystery...I feel like I comment on each one- thank you again!
