BEER BARREL POLKA (ROLL OUT THE BARREL)
There's a garden, what a garden,
Only happy faces bloom there
And there's never any room there
For a worry or a gloom there
Oh! There's music and there's dancing
And a lot of sweet romancing
When they play a polka
They all get in the swing:

Ev'ry time they hear that oompapa
Ev'rybody feels so tra-la-la
They want to throw their cares away
They all go lah-de-ah-de-ay
Then they hear the rumble on the floor
It's the big surprise they're waiting for
And all the couples form a ring
For miles around you'll hear them sing:
Roll out the barrel
We'll have a barrel of fun
Roll out the barrel
We've got the blues on the run
Zing! Boom! Ta-rar-rel
Ring out a song of good cheer
Now's the time to roll the barrel
For the gang's all here
Zing! Boom! Ta-rar-rel
Ring out a song of good cheer
Now's the time to roll the barrel
For the gang's all here.

Majorette and accordianist for 1940's Tournament of Roses and Rose Bowl Parades, known during then as Joyce Ready, did first allow me to sing with her as she played this on the accordian; Joyce, Amos Dudley Seward's G Grandaughter: my Mom--her gallant enthusiasm is rare; twirling the baton the entire duration of the Tournament of Roses and Rose Bowl Parades, the accordian during other years as she marched in the Parades, is quite a feat; of course, she had taken me to Colorado Avenue and explained to me the number of miles that she had dedicated to her work for the Parades, etc. She did apologize several Christmases ago for ever moving me to the Bay Area: please note that my voice lacks any P.A. or amp whatsoever for reasons beyond my control.

  • I hope you stub your toe!

  • Here is original version on the author's son channel (author of this music is Jaromír Vejvoda, owner of the channel is his son Josef): /watch?v=Jc4zm0l3RWw

  • @postdrop This is an rearrangement. The most authentic version is here: /watch?v=jyI9Pj4CEdE.

  • I think this is probably the most authentic version. Thanks for sharing!
