@vDurzoBlint Everyone can be a winner, but not of the same game. For example, only one person officially wins a marathon but many others in the race have great stories of triumph and, literally, every single person who actually completes the marathon have accomplished something spectacular. Yes, everyone can be number one, but not in the same way at the same time.

It was not fluffy thoughts, but empowerment that helped me out of chronic depression. In a flash of brilliance that should have been common sense to me, I realized that nobody had the power to change who I was as a person other than myself. I started to use my newfound internal locus of control to take responsibility for life, making better decisions, improve my health and accomplish goals. I don't know where it comes from, but it is something everyone needs to learn.

I think pushing good esteem on kids when they're really young is fucked up. They grow up with a sense of entitlement and think people give a shit about them, when really in life you gotta put yourself out on a limb and enjoy life for what it is, you're NOT number one, and you'll probably never be number one! Be happy you're not number one.
