A bird of prey gliding over a field of crops in East Hertfordshire, then casually swooping-down to the ground. Can anybody identify which species of bird this is? There's a good view under the wings at 0:13.
Buzzards are the most common birds of prey in the UK. However, this does look rather like a Harrier. If so, what type of Harrier is this? Bird identification can be tricky, with significant diversity within species -- between adult and juvenile birdsand between male and female birds.
(So far one birdwatcher on Facebook has identified this as a Harrier, and another specifically as a Pallid Harrier.)
ow i read the "show more" bit after and no its definately not any species of harrier........its 100% common buzzard
