SOLAR ACTIVITY UPDATE: Monday Morning Blasts From AR-1401 and AR-1402 CMEs(Jan 16th, 2012).

SIGNIFICANT CME: Sunspot complex 1401-1402 erupted this morning, Jan. 16th at approximately 0400 UT, producing a C6-class solar flare and a bright coronal mass ejection. SOHO recorded the expanding cloud: The CME is not heading toward Earth, at least not directly. It might deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field on Jan. 18th. The geomagnetic field is expected to be at mostly quiet to unsettled levels, with isolated active periods, on day one (17 January). Day two (18 January) should see a return to mostly quiet levels. By day three (19 January), the field is expected to be at mostly quiet levels through a majority of the day. Late on 19 January, an increase to quiet to unsettled levels, with isolated active periods, are expected due to anticipated effects from a glancing blow from the 16 January CME.

Great reporting as usual. Thank you! Strong evidence exists that transformations are being caused by highly charged material and energetic non-uniformity's in anisotropic interstellar space which have broken into the interplanetary area of our Solar System. This is effecting not only our Sun but all the planets in our solar system as well.

Thanks, as always! The Sun has been a bit "less" active than it was in August - Nov. Looks like that might change. I think that if there is a Carrington Event it will be when we least expect it and are complacent about things and lulled into thinking that it was all hype.  Have a great day!

Because of advanced technology and you astronomical curators being on full alert ...is this not something that has always been common during the 11 year ' Flare Up ' ?

But then ...is this not a sequence of events that occurs , by human measurements , every 27.000 years .

It is assumed we are now moving through a huge astral belt , since all biblical reference is based on astrological movement , from the Pisces period through to the Aquarius , now happening .
