  • Tom Carnegie. More than anyone else, He was the voice of Indy.

    Tom will be missed.

My Favorite Was " He's On It. "

R.I.P. Tom Carnegie, A true legend of the Brickyard.

  • Anyone know what year this was broadcast? I'm guessing 1991

  • @DieKolkrabe

    1994

  • Heywood can make a song from anything.

  • These good ol' time will return... just wait and see. Stock car may be king now, but the one thing stock car will never have over IndyCar is SPEED. And when you get down to it, the one thing people want to see is SPEED.

  • Memo to Arie Luyendyk: Neil Diamond called, he wants his hair back.

  • This is also featured on Bob and Tom's 1995 album "Checkered Past."

  • @phq46

No, people want to see crashes, not speed...

  • love open wheel.

  • all i have to say is, i went to the race for the first time this past may, and it was the greatest event ive ever been to. i think everyone who has ever lived in indiana should make it a priority to go to this race.

  • And adding to my comment....bring back early 90s coverage. And Bobby,Sam and Paul, it was a treat listening to Paul Page on the radio network.

  • I miss the good old days...But they shall return. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the 80s/early 90s were the golden era of Indy and IndyCar in general, nothing compares to them. The modern IRL's getting back to what that era was, but it needs competition, not just Honda and one chassis type. I'd love to see a return to turbos and late 80s body shapes with modern safety.

Speaking of which. Why is it Honda in the IRL, but the cars are marketed as Acura? I never figured that out

  • @jpenwell1 Thanks :) I love the song, I'm now scouring the uploaded race to see if it's there :)
