@DeAdiSSu3 Wish I could pull 17 hwy with my 77 F150. 351's are thirsty motherfuckers! Even with the 4 speed, best I think I ever pulled with it was 10. Never got any real hwy miles put on it, though. The 87 F150 I sold had 261k miles on it when I bought it. Nasty piston slap, spun main bearing, made the most horrible noises on startup, but it started up every damn time. I was able to squeeze 15.1 hwy out of it, once upon a time. If it was rebuilt, I could've probably pulled about 18 hwy.

@Th35ac Yeah man built Ford tough, it feels like our new 4.6 v8 is JUST now getting broken in after 25k miles, engine seems to pull a bit harder. We get a solid 17 mpg highway while hauling/towing. It's just hard to keep your foot out of it!

@DeAdiSSu3 amen brother. i've got a 77 f150 4x4 and a 96 ranger 2wd that i constantly beat the living fuck outta. it's too much fun! i had an 87 f150 4x4 that ran BETTER when you beat the fuck outta it! if that ain't a ford, then i don't know what is. plus, that ranger consistently got 28mpg hwy (2.3l 5 speed). the 77 f150 and the 87 f150 both got 8-9mpg though.

@ithinkimgonnaskeet11 Lol it's just the opposite where I live. 90% of the rednecks around here all drive Chevy pickups. They all put their gay toolboxes in the bed, throw a CB radio in it with some stupid antennas, and put enough lights on it to think it's Christmas time. I never see a Dodge all rednecked out like that.

@wezilla21 Damn, man! Why do people always gotta hate on Ford? I like mopars, I own a '73 Plymouth Fury III hardtop coupe...but Ford invented the pickup truck. My old man had an '07 two-door f150 that we beat the shit out of, never had any problems, mechanical or otherwise. We traded that in on a supercrew 2010 f150 (both of them were the 4.6 liter) and it's solid all the way around. We beat that truck like a bastard stepchild and it just dishes out more fun....

@ithinkimgonnaskeet11 what are you talking about i drive a dodge and im not a redneck, i bought it used and i have had my truck for 6 years and has never been in the shop for anything besides brakes and it has 190k miles on it so i think your the ignorant one. btw im friends with a couple of mechanics and guess what they drive..... wait for it.... DODGE pickups
