Kings Quest IX: Every Cloak Has a Silver Lining was a fan-made sequel to the Kings Quest series, developed by Phoenix Online Studios. Unfortunately, the game ran into legal issues with the owners of Kings Quest, and was cancelled. Watch this video for the full story!

Edit: This game is coming back! To everyones surprise, Activision pulled their cease-and-desist, and Phoenix Online is releasing TSL on July 10!

  • @100056712 What does roberta williams have to do with this? Activision bought the Kings Quest franchise, and Phoenix Online is an independent company that is making a fan-sequel.

  • Fuck Activision.

How can you kill off the King's Quest Series, when it revolutionized gameplay.

  • Are you KIDDING me? ><

Yeah... the site doesn't take donations. You are a lying buffoon.

  • @100056712 maybe you should be locked away due to criminal ignorance.

  • The game is out, it was released a few days ago.

  • And to think Activision was the victim of Atari in a similar case (but Activision won) back when Activision just started out...

  • "Like a Phoenix Rising out of the Ashes, The Silver Lining is Back Again": From their Official Website. It appears that TSL has won the battle. They have episode 1 and 2 available for download. tsl-game. c o m

  • @snake2006 That's because they still publish games under the Sierra label, but the company itself no longer exists. For example, Interscope owns an entire slew of record labels, but they wouldn't release Marilyn Manson on the same label as they would Britney Spears...that's why every now and again Acitivision decides to throw the Sierra label on something, because it's recognizable to fans of that genre.

  • @Haids1987

I am talking about Roberta and Ken Williams stepping in to help when they got that cease and desist order. There is nothing Ken or Roberta could do since they don't own the rights to the games.
