Path to Freedom presents 'A Homegrown Revolution' A collaboration of selective media clips which feature their urban homestead and farm which focus on the need of radical action -- growing food in the city.
This self produced, short music video was shown at Peter Seller's Cultural Art's class at UCLA followed by a short presentation by urban farmer, Jules Dervaes founder of Path to Freedom. The class focus was on the art of slow food and among other guests invited were Michael Pollan, Alice Waters and Eric Schlosser.
Like Victory Gardens of yesteryear, start your own homegrown revolution, grow your own food in your back or front yard -- for more information visit the urban homesteaders at http://www.PathtoFreedom.com
Since the early 80's the Dervaes family has slowly transformed their ordinary city lot into a self sufficient urban homestead.
(NOTE: This video's creation, concept, layout, sound pickups and editing was done in a marathon session of just three days so please excuse any choppy editing! )

whatever your opinion on organic gardening vs conventional, becoming self sufficient is the best way to effect change because you are no longer susceptible to manipulation of a fiat currency. money is the primary way everything is manipulated and if you are no longer dependent on this empty piece of paper, you have reclaimed your freedom
N15M0 It is amazing to me that in this day and age people would think most of us have a CHOICE about going to work or not.
I would LOOOOOVE to not have to worry about earning money to pay my bills....but what would happen if I didn't work? I am single....um....I wouldn't be able to keep a home. I would love to be a trustfund baby and spend my time with my adopted child and helping charities but that is NOT a reality in this day and age. Some people OBVIOUSLY don't get that.
dont try to add "you are funny" to make me look like my idea is stupid and childish, alright? and yeah, honestly its by choice. some people like to work. i'd rather EARN my money than have it given to me.
you ok? i never thought you were funny stupid or childish! i just think their are other ways that would help all of us instead of the population that can work.. of course you cannot be lazy do nothing and get everything. But just the fact that money isnt backed by anything seems to be slaverish, if it is a word, to me. but that is my say.. i dont want to get anyone mad, that wasnt my point at all. no ones right and no ones wrong.
i was saying dont call me childish or stupid to another person. might have said it to the wrong person, i dont remember exactly. but yeah i wasnt getting mad, i enjoy a good debate. and the money system is extrememly messed up nowadays. but really id just rather work for my money, it makes people realize whats important and helps prioritize. just my thought
