If some of you haven't seen the video, type in Rainbow accident Sweden & you'll see how much that gondola fell to the ground. Some people stayed in their seats, but the majority got thrown out & bruised up. Thank God that gondola wasn't up anymore higher, else, BIG time tragedy! I think that HUSS ( the ride company that made the Rainbow ) should go back & make every Rainbow gondola free-swing...No gears to rely on to keep the gondola upright. Make the gondola pivot like a Ferris Wheel seat.

So that's why you won't ever see another Huss Rainbow again in Raleigh. Most amusement shows and amusement parks have gotten rid of their Huss Rainbow, sent it off to a scrap yard or whatever. It sucks that the Rainbow had that little mishap, but carnivals & parks don't wanna take a chance if it were to happen again. If that gondola had've been all the way up to the top, those people would've been dead...unless some of them could've held on for dear life.

I don't think you'll ever see a Rainbow at the NC State Fair again. The 1001 Nachts, yeah, but not a Huss Rainbow. Why? About 2-3 years ago now, there was a Rainbow at a park in Sweden that malfunctioned. The gondola that the people ride on started up just a few feet off of the ground, and as it did, the driveshaft inside the lower arm that keeps the gondola upright at all times, broke. It sent the gondola into a free swing and dumped people out of their seat like rag dolls.

awesome. I wish I could ride that but I am not going to the state fair this year even though my sister is. The worst part is that the only thing I want right now is to go to the state Fair and it ends on Sunday or in 3 days from when I post this comment. Sucks for me! :(
