The tale of a cold and soggy undernourished pipistrelle bat. I think he is not yet fully grown. He is not taking solid food at the moment. He can't fly but there is no visible damage to his wings or anywhere else. Apparently they are sometimes dropped by their mums. As he is a bit subdued, he is not very likely to pull through, but we can hope! He is unlikely to return to the wild, but we are hoping to hand him over to a lady who looks after bats all the time and takes them into schools. Sorry for video quality especially at the end - i ran out of disc space.
UPDATE - he is eating mealworms well - I hope to film an update soon. He may have become a bit too attached to release wild, but he isn't quite big enough to feed himself properly - I have to chop the heads off the mealworms and squish the insides into his mouth. Luckily I have a nice Sami game knife which is just right for the job!
