I remember this and the older black and white ident, but I never knew the music was called Scotlandia.

Scotlandia was actually used until STV's birthday in 1985 when the thistle was introduced. When TV-am's end time was changed to 09:25 around 1983 STV used the IBA caption with the end segment of the scotlandia music to start the day.

Yes it is Scotlandia a piece written for STV and used for many many years as there startup music. Only stopped using it in about 1988 after we got Breakfast Television
