Officer Involved Shooting

Michael Dorsey just happend to work across the street from where the shooting took place.
"I was not in my office when the incident took place, however I was able to gather some info from neighbors and news reports."
Michael Byoune, 19, a young black man, was killed by Inglewood police officers in the 3000 block of Manchester Boulevard about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, May 11. Byoune was declared dead at the scene, authorities said.

According to police, officers were in their patrol car when they heard gunfire. They saw a man running from a parking lot and getting into a slow-moving car. The officers fired several shots as the vehicle came toward them, police said. Byoune was sitting in the passenger side of the car.

The driver of the car was also wounded and taken to a local hospital

witnesses said that the young men involved were waiting for
their burger order when the shooting started. 2 were waiting in the the car and the driver of the car was running back to the car to get out of the line of fire. they had no idea where the shooting was coming from. after the police had searched the boys and the vehicle, there was no gun, or weapons found. the boys mother indicated that these boys did not get into trouble and were not into any gangs or drugs.

i worked with regan jr. the officer involved in this and the most recent shooting on hillcrest. him and his dad are good guys. nobody but byoune and the shooting officers know what really happend. if the "suspect" pointed a gun well.... if not then he deserves justice.

The shooting of police officers must be stopped now. I read about the 4 officers from the Oakland Police Department who died on the line of duty by Lovelle Mixon. This made me so sick that all this time, I fear that crime will continue to spiral out of control until risky criminal offenders who are a danger to the public to remain in prison and also to keep dangerous weapons OUT of the hands of criminals and in the hands of police officers who badly need to defend themselves from criminals.
