Florida Classic 2008 BOTB: FAMU's Marching 100 takes over the Amway Arena

The Marching 100 (400+) makes the most exciting Band entrance that I've ever seen playing The Final Countdown (popular song by a 1980's Band called Europe)! The arena floor couldn't hold them; so under the darkness of the Amway Arena they are dispersed throughout the crowd. Their performance gave new meaning to surround sound!!

FAMU took this one, exponentially! Good luck to BCU in trying to recruit any high school band member that was there. LOL. The seniors and every underclassmen that were there signed their names to FAMU that night. I was there and it was like some band member's wet dream came to life. Even w/o the fireworks and light show, FAMU's show was still 1000 times better the BCU musically. "Plies" did nothing for BCU's field show. The waxing the night before just carried to the field. FAMU, 500 next year?

I am happy for them. I can see the negative comments coming but I am going to say it anyway. They will do well, but I watched the clip of the 100 from the Clinton Inauguration and thought the Macarena was not the best choice for the occasion. I know Dr. White and Dr. Chipman will design and entertaining yet tasteful performance for the occasion this time around. The clip we are watching right now shows change and reinvention while incorporating the flawless formula created by Dr. Foster.

I marching in 1980, The SOS show in Tampa, and this show was simply awesome, the crowd response was great. Hubba Doc, entire staff, and band members. Who can watch this intro and not know that the 100 is still the best in the WORLD. PERIOD<CASE CLOSED!!!!

i got the chills when they turned the lights back on and all of a sudden all the brass were in from of me that seemed to ahve come out of nowhere
