Me a non-kannadiga living in Bangalore wonders why the cultural and film world of Kannada is at stake when we have a large body of literature and poems in Kannada with great literary merit. Neglect and lack of enterprising are to be blamed for the current vacuum and Bangalore is fast losing its pan-Kannada culture and consequently the city will turn into a wasteland.

@oberon414 Cultural world - safe, secure and promising - not at stake. Film world - yes. The reasons are plenty. Bangalore is not the whole Karnataka, mind you. And even in Bangalore Kannada culture is vibrant since last 10-20 years than ever before.

kannada language is one of best in the world in terms of literature,in terms of those gr8 rich kannadalexicon,and ease with which poetic emotions mingle with kannada words is ultimate.probabaly thats why kannada is adoened with highest jnanapeeta awards(6 awards! far more than hindi!!) the highest literary award in india.the particular song is culmination of 2 gr8 poets gopalakrishna adiga and the director Naagathihalli chandrashekar.feeling high for being kannadiga.

I stay in US and this song and lyrics always moves me, whenever I hear this. Everytime I visit Bangalore, I am shocked to find young people not taking pride in speaking Kannada. They mainly speak English.(even if its not needed!)

I find Kannadigas here show more inclination towards our culture.

This really touches my wonderful memory and compell me to comment here............Raju was one year senior to me at National College Jayanagar (NCJ). I simply put it this way that he is one among the most talented personalities & a Jewel. I am also a great fan of his Harmonium playing skills......

Known to all of us earlier as Satya Prakash......... it is very sad that he has left us a wonderful past memory and his impeccable voice...........

@eyespice I bet a dollar if you can make a single kannadiga to speak one full sentence in pure kannada!. They are absolutely useless shit! and fake people. Kannada literature is alive still and the language is still being used just because of the kannada people who are living outside Bangalore. Have you ever watched a Bangalore kannadiga speaking English?, they literally spit words as if a donkey having dehydration is shitting on the street and running. Bangalore -YUCK!
