It looks like they maybe got it fixed?

This is a ~9 minute edited phone call to VerizonWireless requesting infomation about their rate plan.

The sales reps quote "0.002 cents per kb" for data transfer in Canada but customers are then billed @ 0.002 dollars per kb.

Other recordings on this subject show that many of the customer service reps claim that both are one and the same.

No wonder our country (USA) is rated so poorly on our math skills.

  • .25 dollars is a quarter.

.25 of a PENNY is 1/4 of ONE CENT.

    Do you understand now?

    OR

    .25 dollars = 0.25 dollars.

.25 of one penny CONVERTED to dollars is .0025 dollar.

    :)

  • Countries are often called states. As in, sovereign state, etc

  • @RebelKnightCSA 1024 KB == 1MB only applies to computer memory (measured in base 2). In all other area 1000 KB == 1 MB

    .

  • FUCK VERIZON AnD ITs AFFILIATES

  • @harleykman I thought it was 1024KB to MB, or am I missing something?

  • @theyazata Are you kidding me? A country IS a state. Canada, like every other self-governing nation in the world, is a sovereign state. A state of the variety found in the USA is a federated state - a part of a larger federal political entity which is itself a sovereign state. Protip: next time you call someone out for ignorance, you'd better make sure that you're not the ignorant one.

  • the 7 thumbs down work for verizon

  • Actually 1 MB does equal 1000 kilobytes, because datarate is and always has had been measured using standard Base 10 SI definitions. It is only on your home computer than Base 2 is used, and only for RAM

    .

  • @mee135

    doesn't it?

    1 MB = 1,000 (ish) kb.

    .002/1 000 = 2/1 000 000

    It's close enough at least.

  • Canada is a state.

$2 per MB does not equal $0.002 per kB.
