  • i think france and america did nothing but show great disrespect to the other allies that fought on that day including the 62,000 brits and the 5,000 commonwealth troops compared to the 58,000 americans and how many french?

the british and canadians managed to advance 9.5km while america 2.5km and the french? considering alot of very important people were not invited i think it was a shambles and yet more attempts of america trying to edit britain and other countries out of the war.

  • Can´t everyone of you just shut up and take your arguments someware else.

Comments on this video shall be of respect for those who died on D-Day, nothing else.

  • The last minute of this video when Taps was being played at Arlington Natural Cemetary and when the Jets fell over just tingled my spine.

  • @ThebandnamedPACIS if it wasnt for the united states if it wasnt for the united states FUCK SAKE!!! shut the fuck up your boring. the whole fucking war could not have been won by 1 fucking nation it was a combined effort!!. you didnt save anyones ass's you were not the heroes they claim you to be in in the movies rolling in and saving the day and you did not come up with all the answers. infact d-day was planned in london by combined minds.

  • @samholdsworth Dude, if it wasn't for the United States, June 6th, 1944 would have never happened....

  • What? No germans allowed?`

  • where do they get off with a campaign ad for bill white on this ?!? bad enough Obama's there but his wife, who has called this Country and Americans ' mean-spirited?!' and bill white?!? he who mortaged the citizens of Houston's future w/the Firemen and Policemen pension funds. Guy needs to be indicted!

  • This isn't @Siskel&Ebert rating a movie. It's Operation Overlord. The US supplied troops massive amounts of arms, materials needed to fight the war. Monty?Supposed to take Caen on D-Day...hell he didn't take it D+14! Show great disrespect?!? Where in hell do you get off w/ that remark? The US was attacked by JAPAN but acceded to a " Europe First" Policy. Before that, Lend Lease. Insofar as the f**king French? Could care less what's said. They gave up and gave in after 6 weeks to save Paris.

  • During the movie The Longest day only part you see of the Canadians is the landings at Caen's.They show more of the French army during the landings

  • @samholdsworth 1, Sarkozy made these arrangements, not the Americans. 2, my numbers are 73,000 Americans & 83,000 British & Canadians. It should also be noted that there were 6600 US casualties & 3700 British & Canadian casualties. The Americans did most of the bleeding & dying on the Allied side that day. 3, the Canadians advanced 13 km that day. I am not aware of any such advance by the Brits. Also, the USA had a bluff & miles of hedgerows in front of it making rapid advance impossible.

  • er where is Germany in all of this? They deserve a lot of respect as a worthy foe, they piled the Allies body's pretty high that day.

  • during the movie the longest day,you never heard nothing about the canadians landings at all, just a small clip of the movie, it was mostly about the brits, usa and french troops landing during D-Day ,they even had canadian singer in the movie as american soldier, like always they forget about the canadians even like 9/11 when we were first country come to aid to usa, bush forgot that
