Check out this clip from the feature length horror doc Cropsey.
The Cropsey Maniac is a popular urban legend that has its roots in the Boy Scout camps of northwest in the early 49's and 50's. The urban legend has travelled through many circles, even landing in the Weinstein's film "The Burning." In the 80's, the urban legend was co-opted by the kids in Staten Island as a cautionary tale about the real life boogeyman stalking the grounds of the abandoned Willowbrook State School. Here a bunch of former campers and Staten Island residents show the cross over between the two stories.
"He was a doctor. He had a hook for a hand. He was an axe-wielding madman. He wanted kids and he would find them and chop 'em up."
