@robtol66 That's a bit like saying we should bring on Carey Marx for Have I Got News For You in place of Ian Hislop. Alan's basically a co-host, and he has a great working dynamic with Stephen that Marx - or anyone else outside of Hugh Laurie - just doesn't.

Not his best routine by a long chalk, but on form, Carey Marx is asphyxiatingly funny. Check out his New Zealand 2009 clip for a better taste. Saw him at the Brighton Komedia a couple of years back (with his bear in those days) and I nearly laughed myself unconscious. Cannot for the life of me understand why he isn't a regular on prime time TV like Q.I. etc. - it could give us a rest from Alan Davies, who's had a good run. Marx has got the smarts to coast it and he's just as edgy as Jimmy Carr
