Here is one of the best all round outdoor fixed blades you will find.
Perfectly designed knife, feels awesome in hand, and a superb sheath.
Not much more that a guy can ask for!
The AUS-8 steel is not THE BEST steel out there, but it is more than adiquit.
The cutting test that I will show you was done with a fresh razor edge, and at the end it was just shy of a razor edge, and still was in a spot or two.
With a couple of minutes of honing it was back to it's fullest and none the worse for wear.

Notes:
I have reprofiled that edge to 20 degrees although it will still be razor sharp without it, this just gives it a little bit of a sharper edge.
During the test there was also a lot of cutting that I didn't have time to show you, so AUS-8 steel is no slouch!

I am giving this a 15/15 raiting

  • Can you do a video review on the SOG Creed CD-01? If you're unable to, which knife would you recommend the Creed or the Tech Bowie you just reviewed. (assume that I will not be in a daily knife fight!) Thank you.

  • @jSwag47 unfortunately I never have got around to buying the Creed. It does look like a sweet blade.

As far as choosing between Creed or Tech Bowie, both are awesome blades. The Tech Bowie I know from experience and the Creed is good from all I've heard.

I see them like this -- The Tech Bowie is more combat oriented, and the Creed is more of a wilderness survival knife. But either one can function in eachother's rolls quite well.

So it just comes down to your choice.

    Good luck!

  • Why do you hack down young healthy trees?

  • @BigJackJohn Those are overgrowth that needed to be cut down.

  • That's a fine review, thx!

  • @dullbrass thanks lots! Glad you liked it

  • @ZombieOrchestra I hate to break the pitty party, but it's been awhile since this video so I just watched it again......here's the sad thing, in the whole video THE BLADE NEVER ONCE TOUCHED THE DIRT ANYWAY!

When I stick the blade into something, that was a TREE ROOT!

  • @ZombieOrchestra

you know what? My blade is in mint condition and sharper then when it came! I take as good a care of my knives as anyone, and guess what? It's still in perfect shape, and if your knife can't take a trip into the dirt, then you bought it from the loony bin!

  • aus8 is soft....

  • @CubworksLL Thank you for your input. I think I will get the Creed. Are there any good web sites that you would suggest for a cheaper price? I found them cheaper but have read reviews on the seller... I'd rather have a nice blade and pay a little more than save and get screwed.

  • The SOK is the best there is,made by Hill knives (no longer).

  • @CubworksLL I understand.
