Sweat soldering a pierced silver piece at the lapidary school. After two tries it's done.

  • you could try using 2 different flames (one on top and bottom) also turn your flame down a little your going to get a ton of fire scale on your silver.

    If the piece was any larger that's what would have happened. The paste flux protects the piece from firescale and fire stain.

  • As indicated a grill would have been better to support your work and you seem to be applying way more heat to the bottom than equal amount on both side. Hopefully your project worked out or deleted where you messed up.

  • Way did you not use a grill to support the entire piece of work, if you did, you could have heated the whole bottom, it may work better! Flam on!!!
