I am a fan of DuraCoating as shown in some previous project videos to include a Remington 700P, Cold Steel Long Hunter, Ontario RAT 1 folder, and Camillus Marine Combat knives. Reference the annotated videos. These projects have worn well and I stated then that more custom colorations for TNP equipment were on the way. And here they are: here we prep and spray two Ruger 10/22s and some knives (BM 710 and Nimravus) get the DC treatment in this vid. Vid shows the detailed takedown, sanding prep and spray work in the shop with the guys. As mentioned before, quality prep and taping is needed to achieve a first class finished product. Color shot here is DuraCoat Flat Tactical Coyote Brown. Future vids will show the finished products and discuss their POU (which I think most TNPrs will dig!). TacticalDoodle and InadvertentSmell were the helpers in Nutn's Little Shop of Horrors on this one. Good times but lots of work!

  • I've never duracoated anything but I have sprayed cars since I was a kid. And one bit of advice I would give to anyone going to spray anything for the first time is DON'T try and get full coverage in one coat. I've seen to many people (me being one of 'em) wreck a project by trying to get full coverage in one coat and results in runs and hours of extra sanding. Mist coat the first coat, wait until tounch dry and spray the second coat slightly thicker, third coat maybe needed. Just take it slow.

  • I want a pocket clip on my Ruger!!!
