Downtown Boston can be clearly seen in the distance. This was my first time aboard Porter Airlines and a turboprop plane! I thought it would have been much noisier than a jetliner, but it wasn't. The Q400 vibrated more than a jet plane, but it was still a very comfortable flight.
Porter Airlines was fine, but in my opinion, their standard of service is not any higher than on an Air Canada plane. The most annoying part was getting back to Toronto upon arrival. Between waiting for the ferry, the Porter shuttle bus, and the subway, I realised that it was in fact no faster than traveling from Toronto Pearson airport, at least for me.
Must have had bad luck with timing of ferry or shuttle bus OR fantastic luck with 427/401 traffic. Dude, Pearson Airport is 30 km from downtown. Toronto Island Airport is 2 km from the airport. For anyone living or working near downtown, that's hard to beat, especially traveling rush hour. Secondly, same level of service? Free booze and food? Gorgeous lounges stocked with food, beer and internet for all travelers, not just "business class"? Nobody does that.
