The German stole the anthem from the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, changed the lyrics to a worse version in my point of view, the British at their time, stole the old German Empire anthem and changed the lyrics, again, to a worse version, in my point of view, but still, they are beautiful in my point of view! Thanks!

It was only from the late 19th century that Japan began to acquire power. China has certainly had its ups and downs and different dynasties as well as domination by Mongols and Manchurians. @TheWNMan Societies fall for diverse reasons, obviously. "Rome did not exist as multi-ethnic for centuries"! After they conquered Spain and Carthage and Greece by 146 BC! Egypt a hundred years later along with Palestine and Gaul, and Britain about one hundred years after that, then parts of Germany and Dacia , etc.! Then they lasted another 400 years!
