Dang, layers are so cool, their implication is much more than one thing, I know I am kinda linking into the comment below me, but it is very significant in this video, because there are already so many effects you can use like drop shadow, stroke path etc, using multiple layers with such diverse tools and techniques, also adding vibrant colors, will take your image/text to a whole other level, very beneficial.....

I never knew good fonts can also be formed from multiple layers! Just mere simple shapes also can add on to give fashionable style to images.

It was neat that you could create a design just by using a rectangle tool and the color overlay effect.
