@tmacbear The Amazing Spider-Man is NOT a remake! It's a different and much more accurate Spider-Man movie.
Differences in this movie include: a new and much better cast, Peter Parker/Spider-Man will thankfully be played correctly this time, the story of Peter's parents will feature, MJ will not be involved as instead Gwen Stacy will be Peter's love interest (she was his first true love in the comics), and the villain is The Lizard.
