I remember seeing these guys at a block party in Brooklyn, back in the pre-crack days. They turned out, of course. Little did anyone know, they were proteges' of Kool and the Gang.

I had just started playing guitar in 1974. At first all I wanted to play was The Beatles. Then I heard the rhythm guitar on this song and totally fell out for it! Thanks for posting this lost and rare gem.

Still awesome.

@jazzfanmd What has Become of all the guys? I know Kevin Bell is Playing Guitar for Kool & the Gang now ! do you know at all.
-
Play the rest of the album- master plan, ain't no time. This is a time bomb!

During some members of Kool & the Gangs' sojourn with the Nation of Islam under Mr. Elijah Muhammads' leadership, they produced some of their most conscious yet danceable tunes ever. "Light of Worlds" will continue to be their most conscious piece, containing only what some say is a mystical '9' songs, the last being "Hereafter".

@jazzfanmd Kevin Bell was the guitar player with
the Kay-gees during this time.He is now currently
with Kool and the gang playing guitar
-
Kevin Bell, who played bass in the KayGees is Kool's younger brother. A 3rd brother, Ronald, who was also in Kool & The Gang produced the KayGees.
