The moderator and eugeine scott don't seem to get along.

actually they get along really well. The moderator (Dr Hal Bidlack) is a just providing some comic relief. Watch when Phil Plait and the moderator go back and forth, they are quit funny exchanges.

The problem is not education. To believe in the supernatural & God is comforting, that is why people do it. Without God, the real world is a scary place, full of insecurity & personal responsiblity. Additionally, in regards to minorities, religion & superstition are tools of opression. That is why the church sends out missionaries to spoon feed religion to developing countries. It allows us to control & shape cultural development. Once you have their souls, everything else is easy.

I love Penn Jillette and he and Teller have the best show, BULLSHIT! I find it difficult. I want to walk around with a dick, and say Psychics and Conspiracy Theories are bullshit. I want to keep friends, so, I love and agree with Dr. Eugenie Scott when she says, "Lets focus on where we agree". That is very important people. When it comes to talking about this stuff with family and friends focus on where you agree.

There is a mentioning that most of the speakers are magicians or scientists. I was wondering, which magicians besides Penn & Teller spoke? (God, how I wish I had been at TAM..)

yeah i thought that was what was going on. I don't know there way's of being funny well enough. The moderator just sounded a bit angry towards Eugenie Scott.
