This 1912 engine (Works No 24436) was exported new to Ransomes agents in Tasmania, the engine spent it's life around the Devonport area of Tasmania. Having led a very hard life, including a new firebox in 1937, it was laid to one side as a result of breaking it's 3rd shaft gear. The engine was rescued from the bush in a totally derelict condition, returning to the UK in 1999 and was purchased by the Hart Family. Full restoration has been carried out in their own back garden, including the replacement of many parts.
is that the engine with the original factory paint on the wheels?
