No, this was nothing to do with andrew kramer, in fact I'd never seen his tutorial. If you check the dates, I did this before his tutorial was online.

Man, that looks great! I know every person has their tricks up their sleeves and is hesitant about sharing the hows, but man....
I'd really like to know EVERYTHING that you did, but all I'm going to ask about is the headlights :) Headlights are crucial to a video I'm working on now, so I'm trying to get all the tips I can.

Thanks! It's a really old video - I could do much better now.
Process was as follows.
-Tracked background to replace sky with a cloudier version.
-Graded footage using magic bullet.
-Roughly roto'd the cars so I could reflect them below.
I think I manually animated lens flares to do the lights. Got a bit lazy and didn't do all the lights :)
Not that you can really see it on this, but there is some CC rain!
