Yes and no. It depends on your lighting. If you have incandescent light bulbs, then no. The effect looks more like flying through a tunnel with the rings of color coming from the center and going outward. If you have fluorescent lighting, then the effect exists when the disc is spinning fast enough. However, the back and forth effect in the video was accentuated by the camera's low frame rate combined with fluorescent lighting.
