During a recent trip to my local grocery store I stumbled upon a fruit I've never seen before: The Casaba Melon. Now, maybe this is familiar to you, but it surely was an odd looking fruit to me! So I picked one up, did my research, and whipped up a tasty Casaba Salad with Cucumber and Feta. Yum!

  • i think you should do a Durian

  • @obamaslilbro I know, I know. I will soon!

  • I do love me some melons. When I was in school, there was a guy who taught me this cool trick with watermelon. Just cut a a small hole through the skin of the watermelon and pop and bottle of vodka on top of the hole. The whole bottle should empty into the watermelon. Cover the hole with the piece of skin that was cut and freeze the watermelon for a year. I know it takes up a lot of room, but its worth it!!! I am not sure if it works as well with other melons though...hmm...

  • @thePowerPlant Why do you need to freeze it? I've done this but didn't bother with the last part...

  • I have to say, a nice pair of casabas go well with just about anything...

  • @bigophil Yea! Always great to grab new flavors. Ever throw mint in there?

  • @Ihatemelee No, but I want to. Will be a good topic!

  • @Big2BangHeyGirl oh man - sooo delicious. I love bread pudding. I once saw this recipe which called for the use of old donuts instead of bread. Super indulgent.
