A meditation on Lord Jagannath, an incarnation of Sri Krishna. Every year, devotees of Krishna put their Lordships Sri Jagannath, his sister Subadhra, and his brother Baladev on a set of three giant carts. Forming a parade, they pull the carts. This pulling of the carts is called "Rathayatra." It represents the efforts of the devotees to allow love of Sri Jagannath to enter into our hearts.
The devotees see Lord Jagannath as nondifferent from Sri Krishna, even though He may appear differently.

The name Jagannath means 'the lord of the universe.' The 8 verses of this song were said by Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and written down by Adi Sankaracarya.
In the Srimad-Bhagavatam, after Krishna leaves Vrindavan, the residents there are so sad. They march to Dwaraka where Krishna has gone, and placing Him on an opulent chariot, pull him back to Vrindavan. Their love is the greatest, purest love.
Mahaprabhu sang and danced for Lord Jagannath in Puri, India during the Rathayatra there.That deity remains there today.

Haribol! thank you for your comment. Gaurangi is singing here, yes. She is certainly very fortunate to be using her talent in service to Krsna. And we are fortunate to be able to hear her and relish the Krsna conscious state of mind her song puts us in. Jai Jagannath!
