  • @petermackett3771 was it like in the cartoons- a big hypodermic needle with big letters reading HGH? exactly how would HUMAN growth hormones, which weren't synthesized until a decade later, help a horse???

do you people actually read what you post, or is just easier to believe something negative than accept that there are exceptional creations and it is a priveledge to watch them. Are you so insecure that you can't appreciate greatness?

  • I love secretariat

  • @SonofLiberty79 Yes, reference the "perfect condition" of his heart. It was not 'pathological.' It was perfectly formed, all valves, etc., proportionate and healthy. The term "enlarged heart" is used in cases of pathologically large due to disease or malformation. Such was not the case with Secretariat. :)

  • Thats right, his heart was estimated to have been 22 pounds since it was not weighed during his autopsy. The reason he had such a large heart was due to what is called the "x factor" which is a gene passed down through the brood mare. This gene has been traced back to Eclipse, a racing horse from the late 1700's. Secrateriat is a decendant of Eclipse. He did not take steriods and the doctors who performed his autopsy were in awe of his heart. They said it was in perfect condition.

  • @SukBonelessSausage That is a total lie. His heart did not weigh 30 pounds..nevermind 'plus.' And he was never on steroids of any kind. Stop spreading this garbage. Why can't you allow for the fact that, occasionally, mother nature creates a nearly perfect specimen...whether flora or fauna? jeez...

  • @SecretariatOnSteriod sounds like you have a real thing for steroids, so you dream in steroids too?? I'm 69 yrs old and know better regarding Secretariat. I feel sorry for someone like you when all you can feel and do is sit at a computer and knock off the frat boy adolescent, silly nonsense like this. It's a real case of arrested emotional development. You shld really lay off the steroids !!

  • @labsrus1 I get so many feelings watching "the move" that I get dizzy. I like the spot between horses with his mane flying back as Chick says.... "and it's RIGHT now he's looking for it !" (the lead).

  • I still get goosebumps watching him. What an amazing horse with the correct jockey, trainer and owner. It took a team and that team did it, together with the best horse to ever live so far. :)

  • @GeorgeCarlinIsInHell FYI... George is NOT in hell. AND you're just a troll wanting to get a rise out of people. Andy Beyer said no such thing, and you know damn well that Secretariat was NOT on drugs or anything else, you're a jerk.

  • Only absolute stupid people would say that secretariat was on drugs!!!!

  • @petermackett3771 They did a saliva test on him after the Belmont and he would not have been given the triple crown if he had failed. Get your facts straight.
