She can't swing. The drummer's swinging, and she sounds off because she can't swing.

i think credit where credit is due...she is on a stage, performing, can't fault that guys... :-)

Seems to swing enough in Spots..........maybe the playing the song in 3/4 might have caused a few problems here and there with the rhythm section in general, but overall, it was pretty decent.. I liked it.

I am so impressed with this! Sounds awesome! Can anyone tell me if I can get Maiko on CD or iTunes? I've looked, but can not locate.

Great Improvisation! I just did that piece in my Jazz improv class but my version was nothing like that. I do have a question, why is the violinist avoiding the chin rest? She has her chin on the right side of the violin completely on the opposite side of the tail piece? At first I thought this had to be a viola converted to a violin but then I looked closer and realized she just doesn't use her chin rest at all!

although she can't swing , she makes a gret improvisation ...and this is a part of jazz , too... so... WELL DONE!! for the improvisation!!!
