@JimiiBee Who's to say that those people didn't simply worsen injuries sustained in other activities? And who's to say they have the strength to maintain straight wrists when on their fists or stands? Potential for more severe injury.
-
@beaster29 Im just saying you are willing to damage your wrists as of the positions your wrists are in when supporting your weight as many people have got wrist pain from it.
-
@JimiiBee Right, cause bodybuilders are known for the great deal of pushups they do. If you had said combat athletes, i might be more swayed. It depends on the position of your hands. If they're not being forced beyond their range of motion, why would one be worried? Unless ofcourse you've got weak, or previously injured wrists. And if the wrist in the bent back position is so fragile, why is the palm strike cited as a fist strike alternative in order to prevent hand/wrist injury?
-
@beaster29 Well i gathered it mainly from BODYBUILDERS! Plus its pretty simple to suspect it would cause some damage as your wrists are holding some of your weight up and are being tilted at a 90 degree angle, hmmmmm?
-
@JimiiBee Though im not denying that having your wrists in a straight position is better for them, i wonder what your sources are for claiming that using the palm down position is such a definite road to wrist injury.
-
@beaster29 It can over time definetly
-
@JimiiBee No it doesn't.
-
Well done buddy. I could see how hard this was - but you did it ! :-)
-
Tip: do it on your firsts or on a push up stand, dont do it on your palms it injures your wrists
Thanks Bens, much appreciated!
