Union Pacific #844 finally gets the signal to come out of the UP freight yard and take a little stroll down Embarcadero Street and pass the HUGE crowd awaiting its passing,on its way to the Oakland-Jack London Amtrak station to board passengers.MAN,do I just LOVE that whistle on the 844!!!Thats the main reason why I wanted to get as close as possible to the street running,to catch the engineer blowing that whistle! It was kinda funny that man I saw in one of the cars and says,"I got your picture!"The Heritage Tour Steam Special was forced to board on the main track due to the late arrival of Amtrak train #11,the southbound Coast Starlight occupying the siding.
When will UP 844 show up again in the Bay Area?

You're so lucky to have gotten to see UP 844 in Jack London Square! Wish I could have the same opportunity!

Hello :: Do trains today still run in the middle of the road today?

Its kinda funny how a police car siren blooped at 3:08 and then the train's whistle immediately started blowing.

@dasmikey1964= Yeah, if you get hit by the train, you'll damage this priceless locomotive.

I know people are in a hurry, but jeez, you have 400 tons of steel coming at you! Think, people!

"..the late arrival of Amtrak..". LOL! What else is new? Amazing: the only steam locomotive never retired. And that is a great whistle. I hope #844 runs forever. :)
