My '97 Blazer has an issue where it sounds like it is going to stall out when idle, especially when I have multiple things going in the car, ie. radio, heater, lights. On the highway, at times even when on cruise control I notice the RPM's on the car fluctuating a little. That may or may not have anything to do with this problem. This video is of the sounds my truck is making when it hits a low point of power... alternator has a high pitch sound and then you hear a CLICK, almost like the truck is going to shut off. Notice the pulleys and belt slow down during that short period of time as well. I had the alternator tested and it is running at 99%, so it is good. Battery replaced late last year. Any ideas?

  • i think the sound was the ac compressor clutch locking up, remove the belt, and check to see how smoothly the compressor pulley turns, best wishes--
