@pritlee hi pritlee, did you get the flutes from ramashish??? I used to learn flute when I was in India from my flute teacher who used to highly recommend Ramashish's flutes, just wanted to know your opinion on them as I am planning to buy a set in the near future...

@pritlee Dear friend, it does sound like it is out of tune. Though you can still learn a lot on it. Do you have a teacher? I don't know where you are in the UK but if you can get down to the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (see bhavan dot net) the flute teachers there will be able to help you find a good flute. Keep practicing and good luck!

people, i have just bought two bansuris from this bansuri maker Ramashish Singh, I will get them in couple of weeks, G and E scale...will let you know once I get them how they are .....

I'd highly appreciate if you or anyone can answer my questions....
When I play bansuri, the PA, DHA. NI, SA sounds different than the SA RE GA MA, as if I am using a different scale bansuri all togather.....does it mean it is not properly tuned? I am still learning, I bought the bansuri from a street vendor in India, I live in UK so cant get one from here, people selling one online are way to expensive in my opinion...any help would be most helpful..thanks

You can download a tuner from

I found this useful in getting the right pitch for each hole
This way you can test if each note plays at the right pitch.
