Elektrosegler EasyStar (Multiplex; Brushless-Motor) mit FlycamOne 3 (FCO3 V2, Firmware D1 mit 720x480 Pixel; ACME) und 5.8 GHz-Videotransmitter; Winter-Flugtest (-4°C, böiger Wind) im November 2010 bei München-Pasing; immer wieder gut zu erkennen: das Münchner Westbad (elliptisches Gebäude mit Außenbecken, z. B. bei 01:48);
keine Probleme bei ca. 45 min Flugzeit; Akkus auf ca. 35°C vorgewärmt, FCO3-Versorgung aus Flugakku mit RX-Kabel (nur bei V2 möglich);

  • with all of the snow, are you not afraid of damaging your motor , ESC or other electronics?

  • @RCcunuk Until now, I have only positive experience with winter flights. It's important to pre-warm the LiPo before start (ca. 35°C is fine). When the canopy is closed, the EPP fuselage is a good isolator and protects the electronics well. Only the camera is exposed to the cold air, but it works completely normal. Of course I pay attention to avoid contact between snow/water and the electronics.
