So many guitar snobs here.
I didn't hear drastic difference, except middle pickups.
Grecos (Tokais,Ibanez...) LPs are top notch guitars, some pieces even better than overpriced Gibson. I bet most of you wouldn't notice a shit if blind folded and given a guitar to play.Auto suggestion goes a long way.
Hop to the drug store, take something on my tab.
Go Greco!

I HAD A GRECO SG BACK IN THE EARLY 80'S AND IT WAS OLD THEN SO PROBABLY FROM THE 70'S...why am i yelling? anyways,i gave it to a friend back in high scholl.Sure miss that axe...

I hear a big difference. The Greco's sound is thinner. But that's probably due to the types of pickups and pots in it.

cheaper price with close to LP quality... Greco rox \m/

! just got a greco,I am going to change some things on it,but still this is a great guitar I dont care where its made!! the neck has a good feel to it not to heavy come on who has $4000 grand for a 3pickup lespaul custom these days. just for one guitar! be open to more then just a name because you pay alot for that name. nobody here is getting free guitars from gibson!!

I've been labeled a Gibson basher lately, simply because I bought a brand new EPI LP Custom Alpine White, and in 20 yrs. of playing,to me, it's the best guitar I've ever played! I just wish Gibson would relax the prices, there's not $3,000.00 difference between my Epi, and the Gibson! I could have bought the Gibson, money wasn't the issue, tone, and playability for me! Lots of great guitars out there, go play some, and compare!

Great comparison. When we recorded our first song with my band, I used a '92 Gibson Standard and my old Greco. Both sounded equally good. You can check the song and how the two guitars sound together on my channel, or type in No more shelter, that's the name of my band.

@LabelBob There are superior guitars to $3000 Gibson LP, it's your problem if you can't realize it.
If I played you two good LP copies, I bet you'd say one was Gibson LP. Tone is a delicate thing.
Logo doesn't make you a great player.

@LabelBob I'm not trying to sell you Greco man, I'm just saying I'm puzzled by sheer ignorance of guitar players.
Get some super real series and Gibby and do the blind test .
IS neck angle the same?

@SparcoC4 As far as I can tell, yes.

Two Les Paul´s of the same brand doesn´t have to sound the same. I have one Greco that sounds scooped, there´s bass and treble, but less midrange (eg 700 with thinner 60´s neck), and another Greco with a more even EQ, and wam midrange (eg59-65 with chubbier neck and long tenon). Both are in the midrange price sector, from 81 and 83. Speaking acoustically.

@baskethilt That's part of the thrill when looking for a new guitar, me thinks, to find one that suits what you're looking for :)

I couldn't tell the difference...the Guitars are both great works of art. Greco's quality is second to none. Gibson's on the other hand have a reputation as being the monopoly of quality guitars, which means they can make shitty instruments and still sell the name "Gibson" as a quality of assurance.

@HardAsARock222 I agree, when I tested a bunch different Grecos and Burny's they were all very playable and sweet to handle. Not true for some Gibsons I have tried... not to speak about Epiphone, which I never liked.
