Some in-game footage from a PC WWI Flight sim called "First Eagles - The Great Air War 1918" by Thirdwire, using motion tracking to look around in 6 axis/degrees. Similar to TrackIR, this free head tracking software is called FreeTrack (www.free-track.net) and uses your own web cam. The total cost for the system was the $3.00 it cost me for a string of battery operated LED Christmas lights. I just had to remove the flasher unit and cut off all but 3 LED lights, then mount them on a hat. The video itself was put together using Ulead's MediaStudio Pro 8.

  • Its been a while since I have used it, but I have DIRECT GAME INTERFACE checked, under OUTPUT in the Free Track menu, and the camera controls in the flight sim set to use the mouse. Hope that helps.

  • are you the one who made it?

  • I made the one in this video.

  • The only thing to do now is to make the screen follow you, your head maybe moves but yuor eyes point in the same direction all the time.

  • @Racefreak1976 If you want to make one it's eazy you will need 3 IR LEDS (cheap) 3 Resistores 2 1.5 Volt batterys or 1 9volt And a good electronics part store (DIGI-KEY ) is a good one in north america and they ship next day for 8 dollars USA/CANADA Use a coat hangers as a frame and the tube of 3 pens to hold the wire and LED Check my videos in about 1 or 2 weeks I will have a how to make it by then

  • Today I tried building one of these and I failed badly. I've never done anything with electronics before. I'll just keep on trying until I die of electrocution. :-)

  • WOW this is Great . AMAZING. Feel like a real Battle!greetings from East Germany

  • Did you think of this after you fell and hit your head on the Toilet Doc? lol

just buggin, head tracking is cool, but I'd rather just buy a Webcam, the TrackClip pro, and use it with FreeTrack :-)

then it would look neat and tidy :-)
