if the current crop of 'popstar female singers' had a quarter of pj harevy's musical sensibilities and chops - the record industry overall would be a better forum for truly promoting their artists: instead we have insipid and dull artists like alicia keyes singing in that annoying 'american idol' false emoting falsetto a la queen of emotional fakery mariah carey... each day i thank the gods for pj harvey.

I listened to so many things, but finally this song has something the others songs don't have. I don't say that I keep listening to it everyday but, each time I listen to it, something happens. I think this is the purest song I ever heard. Well the chords progression is basic, but it fits perfect with her voice and the lyrics. There's so many things in this song, it's sad and happy, bright and pure at the same time... White chalk hills will rot my bones
