in nick cerio's kenpo, this kata is called suji no kon sho, maybe not in your style:P

i think the one you're doing is suji. There is a suji and a sushi no kon sho. We do both in my style.

I did spell it wrong, but the actual spelling is either Shushi or Shuji, either one. My instructor gave me a sheet of information on the kata, and it had the title at the top as Shushi no Kon Sho. If you want to argue with an 8th-dan who is a Chief Instructor of my system, good luck.

Actually, this is my first tournament outside of the ones held by my dojo. I have always placed 1st in weapons in our dojo tournaments, and usually 1st in empty-hand kata as well. I am looking forward to competing in more outside tournaments in the future, and since we also teach judo at my dojo, I may enter some judo tournaments as well
