actually when sun jian died all they had left was the imperial seal so zhou yu told sun ce to give it to yuan shu for some troops in order to attack wu province from lui yong

In actual history, a soldier reported something shining in a well and Sun Jian discovered it to be the imperial seal. He took off with it and the first to leave the alliance. He may or may not have wanted to rule, but he sure did has the leadership skills for it. I would want the combination of the virtues of liu bei, the ambition of cao cao, and the leadership of sun jian to be a ruler.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't. Sun Ce was never in posession of the seal. Jian gave it straight to Yuan Shu.
