If we look into Chinese history, Hakka language has been researched and found to be closest to the traditional "Classical Chinese" - the original ONE Chinese Language spoken by the ancient Chinese before it evolved into so many dialects. lol. The Hakkas were originally from the north but because of political persecution or such, they migrated in big numbers to the north, therefore, disliked by the northeners for coming in and staying in their land, profit from their money in businesses, etc
